PAMELA LUPTON
I have always been fascinated by classical sculpture and the characters of Greek and Roman mythology as they are frequently reinvented throughout the History of Western Art. The idea of personification and the embodiment of different aspects of the natural world have inspired my work as an Artist. I am fascinated by the human head and figure and love experimenting with a variety of media in the creation of form and surface texture. Recent heads have been inspired by the contemplative mood of the work of Glenys Barton and this meditative mood is also reflected in a series of female figure studies in plaster.
