BRIGID MARGARET EDGE
As early as I can remember, I was always making objects in the round - my parents were happy with me messing with clay.  Later, my early work was encouraged in the 'Poly' (a technical college in London).  They had no kiln, however, so in the 1970's I bought one of my own only to discover that instead of a low-firing kiln for terracotta, I should have bought one for porcelain.  Nevertheless, I made several pieces on the subject of myths about trees.
Now, to realize larger pieces, I am using a variety of different media.  I sometimes see abstract works in natural phenomena and, sometimes, natural accidental poses in men, women and children - revelations of our inner emotion.
My membership of Cumbria Sculptors has given me the advantages of honest criticism, helpful technical expertise and encouragement.
